Official Wine of the German National Team – The Trenz Steinhaus Riesling

The vineyard Trenz has a long tradition when it comes to making wine in the famous Rheingau area of Germany. It began in the almost ancient times of the year 1670 when the family started to grow grapes and produce high quality wines. Centuries and generations later Michael Trenz has taken over the family business and transformed the vineyard into a modern winery that stays true to its roots. His motto states exactly what he stands for “fine and high quality wines need commitment and willingness to always explore and head into new directions”. Michael a.k.a. “The Philosopher” has come a long way and was awarded with the “German Riesling Award” in 2006 and the “Discovery of the year” in 2008 by the Gault Millau, Europe’s leading wine guide.

Therefore it did not come as a surprise that the German Football Association (DFB) selected Michael Trenz and his famous “Steinhaus Riesling” to be catered to all domestic games of the German National Team. This dry, fruity and slightly mineral Riesling is served in the VIP areas of the games, because winners are made on and off the pitch.

The Steinhaus Riesling, official wine of the 2014 Football World Champion Germany, is in Hong Kong exclusively sold by Chilled Wine. If you want to know what kind of wine has the power to boost the likes of Podolski, Klose, Lahm, Schweinsteiger and Mueller here is your chance…
